How do we continue to persevere and be consistent as business owners and CEOs? We establish a plan, create a schedule and stick to a routine.
Welcome to March where we dive into the processes required to maintain greatness and stay committed to sustaining the foundation we began in January. Being either a new business owner, or a seasoned veteran there are many stages of business building that are important to implement in order to be consistent and provide great products and services to your customers.
Establish a routine early on, it is imperative to determine what is important to get done throughout your days and weeks and make sure that you stick to those routines. Ensure that you incorporate time for business, personal and pleasure; it is important to find the days that you work best, use those days as your clerical days and stay productive. Make sure that you find time to exercise and eat three meals a day; fuel = energy, sometimes we fail to realize that a healthy eating and sleeping cycle produces the best parts of us. Get rest, there will be days you have to pull all-nighters and work late, that’s natural; however, you should never make a habit out of burnout. Stress + Rest = Success.
Schedule, schedule, schedule.
Implementing a schedule and penciling appointments is one of the more crucial parts of establishing a routine. Your day-to-day activities will mirror themselves, for the most part, in order to not disrupt that pattern schedule important meetings, visits and personal appointments. Some days that will reflect scheduling times with family, friends and yourself; beyond your clients’ needs for product and service development, you will have to extend this to your immediate circle. What this does, ultimately, is create balance and affirms boundaries for those closest to us when building our brands.
Start and end your work days the same way every day; wake up at a consistent hour, grab your cup of tea, eat your breakfast, write your to-do list for the day. Repetitively commit to your day break and end to limit stress levels, anxiety, and overall mental health to reflect a controlled and stable habits. After all, habits help form character.
In the end, maintaining daily, and weekly repetitive tasks assist us in building and sustaining routines beneficial to general operational tasks. Take the time you need, too, for yourself; it is not required of you to be enmeshed in your business. If you start to become overwhelmed by what is required of you, take a day to yourself, take a mini vacation; it is okay to re-group and hit the ground running again.
